Semi-Automated Solutions

Manual and Semi-Automated Tracking-Systems
Accurate Control Without Wearable Tags

For use cases where full automation is not essential, systems like Robe RoboSpot or FollowMe offer flexible and reliable alternatives to traditional follow spot solutions. A key benefit: performers don’t need to wear any tracking hardware – ideal for productions where minimal interference with performance is required.

Robe RoboSpot – Remote Follow Spot

RoboSpot is a manually operated remote follow-spot system. An operator in the backstage area controls moving lights via a live camera feed mounted in or on the fixture itself. This setup is ideal for smaller productions or quick implementations with minimal setup. However, each system can track only one target at a time.

FollowMe – 3D Control with Multi-Target Tracking

FollowMe offers enhanced capabilities. Up to six targets can be tracked simultaneously. Operators use 3D mice to set virtual target points on a screen, which are then followed by the lights. A fixed rig camera captures the stage and all performers.

The system calculates the exact position of each light in 3D space, allowing precise control of an unlimited number of moving lights—even in complex environments. Audio and video signals (via PSN or OSC) can also be integrated. These systems require a dedicated operator for each tracked target.

Both systems are fully road-proven and reliable.
